How to Create a Discount Code

This guide shows how to create a discount code in your Shopify admin, set its value, add a minimum purchase and limit it to one use per customer.

In your Shopify admin, click Discounts in the left menu.
Click Create discount.
In Select discount type, choose Amount off order.
Keep Discount code selected and enter the code customers will type, such as SAVE15.
Under Discount value, keep Percentage and enter 15.
Under Minimum purchase requirements, choose Minimum purchase amount and enter 50.
Under Maximum discount uses, tick Limit to one use per customer.
Leave the start date as today with no end date, then click Save.
Check the result. A message confirms the code was created and it shows as Active.
