How to Create an Automatic Discount

This guide shows how to create an automatic discount that takes a percentage off one collection, then check that it applies in your online store cart.

In your Shopify admin, click Discounts in the left menu.
Click Create discount.
In Select discount type, choose Amount off products.
Under Method, choose Automatic discount.
Enter a Title customers will see in their cart, such as 10% off.
Under Discount value, keep Percentage and enter 10.
Under Applies to, keep Specific collections, search for the collection, tick it and click Add.
The collection now shows under the discount.
Click Save.
A message confirms the discount was created, and it shows as Active.
To check it, open a product from the collection in your online store and click Add to cart.
In the cart, the discount name shows under the item and the price drops by the discount.
