How to Refund an Order

This guide shows how to find an order, refund one item from it, put that item back in stock, and confirm the refund in the order timeline.

In your Shopify admin, click Orders in the left menu.
Click the search icon and filter the list, for example by Tagged with a tag.
Click the order you want to refund, here #1072.
Click Refund at the top of the order.
Enter the quantity to refund for each item. Leave Restock item ticked to put it back in inventory.
Untick Send notification if you don't want to email the customer.
Check the refund total, then click Refund.
The order now shows Partially refunded and the refunded item moves to Removed.
Scroll down to the Timeline to see the refund and restock recorded.
